This role will have full responsibility for the strategic financial requirements across the organisation; playing the key role of assessing and steering organisational performance; strategically positioning the organisation to ensure that its systems and processes meet their future needs and helping the organisation deliver to its Value for Money targets.

You must therefore be a professional who is highly resilient, embracing such an environment with the ability to see what is coming, and play a central role in advising and steering the organisation through the myriad of obstacles that are encountered.
With full responsibility for the governance and performance of “all things finance,” including operational budgets, assets and future developments, you will exhibit the ability to genuinely operate strategically in the broadest business sense. This will involve partnering with, and advising, the CEO and Executive to ensure effective planning and management across the organisation, maintaining focus on critical KPI’s, and driving the consistent achievement of key outcomes.

- An innate ability to “see the wood for the trees” no matter the complexity, ambiguity and peripheral “noise,” that you will constantly encounter.
- Accurately assessing risk in the broadest terms, but managing it to ensure it does not constrain the organisation.
- Superior relationship management skills, at all levels, utilised internally and externally.

You will be a decisive and confident leader who drives from the front and has a strong focus on the commercial and value for money outcomes. It is imperative that you are CA qualified and hold membership of CAANZ or equivalent.
This is a high profile appointment within the Public Sector and would suit a professional with senior management experience in large and complex organisations. You will be a skilled financial steward, ideally with knowledge of public sector financial management frameworks and legislation.
