A major strategic focus is to build on leadership and business development capability, while further developing HR, financial, IT and other systems will be needed.

The General Manager will be an influential figure in achieving these goals and ensuring that the firm fulfills its full potential. The role will be responsible for managing the business side of the firm, under the direction of the Managing Partner. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, managing and providing overall leadership of business support functions (HR, financial, business development, IT, author support and administrative systems);
  • Guiding and implementing continuous improvement initiatives and operating effective systems;
  • Acting as the firm’s “communication hub”, providing accessible and visible leadership. 

You will have the skills required to help advance the firm’s financial interests and be comfortable working with the ambiguity that is inherent in the management structure of a professional services firm. Excellent people management, organisational systems development and influencing skills, as will demonstrated leadership success in a commercially orientated environment. You will need the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all partners, professional staff and support staff, while helping to maintain and improve financial and non-financial performance. The successful applicant will have relevant tertiary qualifications and accounting/financial skills. A high level of integrity with a deep commitment to the firm’s vision is essential.
